Nostalgia is a damn fine thing, even the short-term variety. Seems like only a few months ago that Buffalo's Palomar Sky Survey were slated for a gig at Mohawk Place, but that's purely a figment of my imagination. A co-ed trio helmed by Joel Menter and Val Pimento, backed up by Renee on the drum kit, PSS had their aesthetics rooted in the fertile indie-pop epoch of the '90s. Shades of Versus, Eric's Trip, and The Spinanes modestly imbue both sides of are we heading south?, which to my knowledge was Palomar's first wide-scale release.
